My next 7 sessions went well and I seemed to feel better after each. More focused and calmer. I was very impressed. I was given graphs showing where I had been and where I was now. It was very clear that my brainwave patterns had changed dramatically. My left, right, front and back lobes all were much more in sync. Where they had been separated from each other, they now were oscillating together.
Lee showed me where I could still improve and would benefit from more training. He explained that I probably had been "stuck" since my auto accident 35 years ago. So it should not be a surprise that I would need more sessions. They recommend that you wait 2-3 weeks before more sessions. So 3 weeks later, I did 10 more sessions. It was a paradox to me though. While I mentally felt so much better, I had been experiencing other symptoms. I had nausea, diarrhea, and sleep problems again. It did not make sense. I prayed and thought a lot about this. My answer came out of the blue.
I consult with a number of start up businesses. So I spend considerable time in different offices. While I was at one of those offices, one of their executives approached me and said, “Pat, you know a lot about health. Why do I get a terrible cough, post nasal drip and stuffy every time I am in this building, and I am fine on weekends? I asked a few questions and bingo, I had my answer. This building had mold!! It was the only thing that could explain his symptoms. His symptoms would leave after about 2 hours after him being out of the building. While he was sensitive to mold, he had an immune system that recognized the mold toxin and eliminated it fairly quickly. Well, my immune system does not do that!
As I wrote extensively here, I am extremely sensitive to mold, I have a genotype where my immune system does NOT recognize the toxin. The toxin is fat soluble. It gets locked up in a cycle with cholesterol. Cholesterol carries the toxin all over the body, particularly the brain. It kicks off an inflammation cascade causing illness systemically. The toxin is a potent neurotoxin. Since the body considers cholesterol a very valuable chemical, it does not excrete much of it. It recycles it constantly. So the toxin has no way out. And it becomes cumulative.
I asked more questions about that office and sure enough there had been numerous incidents of water damage in the past that had not been remediated. A few times water had built up in the ceilings until it burst through the ceiling tiles. With water damage like that, it is inevitable that mold would grow. And as the weather warmed, the mold would bloom. It was likely to be in the AC system as well. I left the building and have not been back. When I consult with them it is now over the phone.
I immediately went on CSM, cholestyramine, which binds to cholesterol in the bowels and carries it out. I felt worse for about 3 days but on the 4th day I turned a corner and began to feel really good. Mold had been effecting me a lot and I had not recognize it.
I talked with Lee about the mold and we decided to do a bit of an experiment. He did another brain assessment in order to compare where I was now after clearing the toxin to where I was after 20 sessions. I was way better but had not been able to "hold" some of the improvement to my brain patterns. We then did 4 more sessions and it was clear that I was “holding” the changes better since the toxin was no longer present in my body. I thought that was very cool and so did he.
He was unaware of the issues with mold but now felt he had a new piece of useful info for people whose training simply did not seem to hold as well as it should. Since about 25% of the population has a genotype that has problems clearing mold toxins, he knew he was running into that across the thousands of clients he and his affiliates worked with. In fact, he said the clients with Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia were the toughest ones to help.
This also caused me to research afresh what Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker had been doing recently. I made an appointment to go see him again. More on that coming in the next post.
