Here is an update to European Scientists trying criminalize Intelligent Design speech.
Here is a shocking article detailing Orwellian type censorship and punishment in Europe. This kind of thing ought to scare the crap out of everyone including Democrats and Republicans, Evolutionists and IDists, pro-lifers and pro-choicers.
To eliminate free speech for any group in the way they are doing it is frightening. Especially considering that Europe won't deal with Islamists even though they openly DO want to create a European Islamic State and are killing to make it happen. They are actually coddled out of fear by the Europeans.
My main problem though is the kind of speech and beliefs that Europe wants to eliminate and punish (pro-life, ID, Judeo-Christianity) seems to be the same speech and beliefs that many would love to eliminate and punish here in America. Can't we agree to disagree as we have for two centuries without burning the heretics at the stake? Just because Christians once did it should not be reason to repeat the idiocy!

Though one may disagree with people who take the Book of Genesis literally (believing that God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh), surely secularist political organizations telling people what they may or may not believe, constitute a far greater threat to human rights than religious institutions telling their faithful how to vote. In the voting booth people are free to do what they like, whilst in contemporary Europe people are no longer free to publicly voice their own, deeply felt opinions in public.
I hope this stupidity is not repeated here in America. I fear it may.
