Zeolites another MLM scam or health miracle?

(Posted by Patrick Sullivan Jr.)

Mark Schauss calls on the FDA to do some regulatin' of Zeolites by Waiora.  Pat and I are no fans of MLM ("direct sales") health companies.  But I have to admit, Zeolites really intrigues me.  If there are studies, I'd like to see more than just a summary of the results. Mike Adams sure seems sold on it as well.  Read here and here.

Pat,

The Gabriele Cousins comments are a little out there and nothing he said has been independently verified.

Where are all of the people who were cured of cancer? If it was you, wouldn't you be the first to jump up and down and tell the world? I sure would. Where is the data on the small study he mentions? No where to be found except repeated over and over on the Internet.

As for chelating metals, Dr. Boyd Haley, a world's expert on mercury found NCD did not bind with mercury at all, no matter how hard he tried. Also, you have to know that zeolite is actually Aluminum Silicate, a heavy metal!

I truly wish there were some studies that were peer-review on the product but all I've heard from the purveyors is one promise after another and not one real well constructed study anywhere.

Until then, call me extremely skeptical.

My daughter's DAN doctor has helped patients get zeolite...and many parents have reported good results. But I'm not doing it. My daughter did SO WELL with TD-DMPS that her eyesight improved by over 60% and her mineral levels came back to within (acceptable) reference ranges after having dumped mercury for two years. We might have cut that time in half, but my daughter was on a half dose because she has leaky gut...which is always exacerbated by sulfur-based chelators.

Hi Pat Jr.

As you look into NCD Zeolite (if you do, because you are intrigued) perhaps you can answer a basic question:

What is it?

Is it the synthetic zeolite as described in the patent and on the product label itself?

Is it purfied clinoptilolite (natural and not at all synthetic) as described in the Safety Letter at the Waiora website?

Or is it simply ground up clinoptilolite (natural and not at all synthetic) which does contain impurities - as described in the Waiora letter to distributors (let me know if you need a copy).

Or something else.

Erik,

"My daughter's DAN doctor has helped patients get zeolite..."

It ain't tough to click on the "buy now" button without a DAN! doctor.

"and many parents have reported good results."

and some have even made their lab results availabe to the public, that shows it doesn't appear to do anything resembling chelation.

Just found the "The path guy," who gives his take on zeolites. http://www.pathguy.com/altermed.htm#zeolite

He says it's bogus. But I like Gabriele Cousins' general approach. His basic premise is "you are what you eat." Conscious eating focuses on eating nutrient-dense, low-glycemic, unprocessed foods in their purest form.

If you just follow that one piece of advice, you're in good shape. I don't know if he can convince people of all the rest of his treatments, which Mark Schauss says is "out there." After reading up on Zeolite, I would say that it's in that category, of being "out there."

November 2000 archives product section-

Rik Deitsch, as the Director of Science and Education for Royal Numico's Rexall Unicity. A quick check with FDA shows the Court documents from 2004 where this company was prosecuted for product scam, misinforming, etc..

Rik warns about liquid vitamins. He warns they aren't effective. What? Yes, that's what he says.

Thanks For The Great Information. Good Luck!

You know, from time to time I see mention of various products that claim to remove heavy metals quickly and without side effects. Various concoctions of algae or clay baths etc... I wonder if any of this stuff really works? There never seems to be any data on it. Seems the only proven way to do this is DMSA/DMPS/ALA like Andy Cutler writes, or perhaps sitting in a Sauna a lot... Is there anyone with data to show anything else really works?

Why have the results of this testing on Zeolite not been released?? The most expensive water in the world with not one proven study. And then they do one and it is not published???

Eno Research & Development (ERDI) in North Carolina in cooperation with Duke University

Tobe

There are two companies in North Carolina with similar names. I believe one is ERDI and the other is Eno Research. One is legitimate, and the other is not. There is no clinical research to publish about liquid zeolite, nor has there ever been through Duke University. If you check Duke's site, there is a place that lists all research conducted through Duke, Duke Cancer Center. It is fairly common for mlm's to slightly change the name of a legitimate company and use it as their own.

If a company claims to have research or clinical studies, follow the trail of information they present. Then you won't have to wait and see if there is any research to begin with.

From Jonathan Treasures Herblog-May 14, 2007

"Zeolite “inventor” sues Waiora, Dietsch and downliners. If anyone is still interested in the MLM zeolite scam perpetrated by Waiora and their volcanic wonder supplement scam called NCD, take note that Lifelink Pharmaceuticals Inc. who hold Dr Harvey Kauffman’s patent on the Zeolite product, is currently suing Waiora (and its phony scientist and chief plagiarist Dietsch) for patent infringement. The link to the case is here. What is going on is not clear at this stage, but we look forward to seeing the brown stuff fly before long….note that downline distributors are also being sued in the case. Perhaps Kauffman is irked about all the money they are making by phony cancer cure claims…meanwhile the famous “about to be published” case of all those terminal cancer patients miraculously being cured by zeolite (NCD) referred to in much of the Waiora downliner literature has yet to surface. Don’t hold your breath."

Look up "100% pure liquid zeolite" get a bottle of improved zeolite in a bottle twice the siZe as MLM for $20.00 (cheaper if you buy more).

the clinical trials are being published in Feb., so you can read them for yourself. also Waiora never claims that zeolites are healing anything. it merely acts as a chelation therapy, (noninvasive), and does pull out some of the toxic metals that have bombarded our bodies. a very huge problem however, it allows the body in time to balance and heal itself. If this intrigues you, you should try it for yourself and see. Waiora is the only pure product out there on the market. Soon this will be general knowledge. Anything that works in alternative therapy has been called bogus.

Louise, where are the clinicals being published? Can you source another site for this information?

Also, do you have any reply to the comment from jh2001 RE: "From Jonathan Treasures Herblog-May 14, 2007"?

Hello to the P.S. blog (one of the best for info). In response to post by Louise,
"Anything that works in alternative therapy has been called bogus." The majority of legitimate companies obtain a proper business license, etc. to operate, manufacture, and sell a product. It's a very common technique for mlm's and bogus pyramid co's to pin the governement and/or legitimate retail against the alternative medicine network. They tell you no one has done you any favors thus far, we live in a toxic world, and they've come to the rescue.

Here's the problem: if people want to sell a supplement, verify the claims, don't make claims you can't verify. If the person doesn't verify, they're just as guilty in contributing to the "toxic world," as anyone else.

The key here...it's our responsibility to be an informed consumer. Some companies may be bogus, but I'm responsible with the info they provide. I'm not betting my health on a future promise (p.s. they've been promising for two years) over verifiable, legitmate info that is easily accessible.

For me, it's more disturbing that people simply buy into it without doing their homework, and turn around and sell it themselves. This makes them part of the problem.

Buying into something is a consumer decision, if a person accepts no legitimate evidence over legitimate evidence then so be it.

i have a couple of friends who are really into Waiora, and i just recently began taking the Hi 5 multivitamin product as well as the NCD "Zeolite" product... so i'll let you how it works for me.... of course, anything i come up with will just be another insignificant testimonial, one way or another... and i am more of an optomist, which may play into the placebo effect of my observations. .The cost is high in dollars, esspecially for a family, but if it does anything by way of prevening illness it will be worth it.... at the same time i can tell you what does work... Faithfilled prayer... i can give you a lifetime of testimony of that.... lol... God bless... marty.

I have talked to some people with some major credentials on this, who have in fact heard of Zeolite.

One is my doctor who is an N.D. and has a science degree. The other is a geolagist and a proffesor at the local University. After I let my doctor review the claims from www.Cancerfightingstrategies.com he had said that the facts given on this product were a bunch of comprised facts and studies that are valid but not realy pertaining to Zeolite. That way if you have a bit of common knowledge you will accept it being that you have already heard it before.

The Geoligist who is a recovering cancer patient aswell revealed that Zeolite is nothing other then some standard minerals, that you can get out of many foods. There is nothing special about the substances in Zeolite.

The claims on it being negative charged seems to be true, but the concerns are that if it does take out Metal toxins out of the body, which good ones does it take aswell.

There are many ways to beat cancer and they are on the mentioned website. One that has been proven according to my doctor is by increasing alkalinity of the body and increasing oxygen levels aswell. So when they throw in Zeolite along with these others and you have already heard the above, its a easy package sell.

My doctor has worked with many stage 4 cancer patients and after time completely came back from a hospitol with no sighns of cancer. He has dealt with over 250 patients and only 3 have passed away. 2 were to late and 1 had radiation poisining and drug over load which increases acid levels which cancer thrives in. But the radioligists will tell you thats there liver giving out because they are finished. Ya this is true finished from being druged and poisened by radiation.

Your best bet is preventative measure through lifestyle. You cannot look at traditional medicine as a quick get well solution. Thats why the pill poppers have a hard time buying into it because they look at it the way western world have been trained into it which is by hiding the facts what causes disease when they no very well how it got there in most cases so they can sell you a pill.(i.e.) Did you know there are commercials from drug companies claiming that heart burn is a disease? Then they show a guy enjoying life again runing down the beach with a beer in one hand and a slab of pizza in the other hand. If i can stop heart burn in a week from eating healthy, what do you think we could do over our lives fom eating healthy?

We all know how to eat healthy but we choose not too.
